My Dear Host Family,

I'd like to start my first letter to you with introducing myself. My name is Oleksandra. I'm 22.

I was born in the Kirovograd city. It’s not very big, just 250 thousand people.

There are three members in my family: my mother Valentyna Viktorivna (42 years old) is an engineer, she is a very kind and beautiful woman, she keeps house and takes care of our family, she is good at cooking and I always help her. My father Vasyliy Vasulovych (45 years old)- he is a driver.

I wish to become an au pair because I like children and it’s wonderful to communicate with them. I understand that it's a great responsibility to work with children

In my opinion, the outdoor games and sports are very important for children’s health. The best way to relax and have fan is to spend time in the open area. As I am also a very sporty person (aerobics, swimming, jogging, dancing), it is a pleasure for me to participate in such activities.

Taking care of children also means cooking good food for them. My mother started teaching me cooking when I was small, so I am proud to say now that I am good at cooking soups, porridges, and preparing dishes with fish and meat. My mother is a very tidy person, so she taught me to help her about the house when I growing up. I can say that keeping the house clean, ironing, washing the clothes and cooking I learned from her.

Keeping close to the family is very important. There are some family traditions we follow: eating all together in the evening and talking about the events of the day, going to the seaside all together or just making family evenings. I hope I will also have a good contact with my Guest family and we will be able to spend a happy and a very interesting year together.

I have decided to make an Au pair year in your country to improve my language skills and to learn more about the country. In my opinion, the best way to know more about the foreign country is to learn more about the people. An Au pair year is always a special experience for the both sides: the family and the Au pair. The first ones receive the needed help with household and children, learn to trust and rely on somebody, the second ones get more knowledge about the children and their behavior, learn a lot of things about the culture of this country and make friends all over the world.

Getting along with a foreign person can be very unusual at the beginning, but compromises and common work may help this year to be nice and successful for both the family and the Au pair.

I am said to be a cheerful person who is able to get along with the children. I have already helped my neighbors and friends to take care after their children while they were not at home, I enjoy playing with children, checking their homework, playing badminton with them, going to the swimming pool etc. There are a lot of activities you can do to make children feel enthusiastic and develop their skills. They can make me laugh. It seams to me that children are very interesting and funny.

At the end I want to say that I like children very much and I'm sure they like me too. They can make me laugh. It seams to me that children are very interesting and funny.
